Huang Lui

Experience, specialisation and highlights

Huang Lui was called to the Singapore Bar in 1968 and has been in practice for more than 50 years. She specialises in real estate matters, with a focus on the acquisition, sale and lease of residential, commercial and industrial properties, including transactions with a higher degree of complexity.

Much of her work involves what can be described as high-end conveyancing. She has acted for many clients in property matters that also involve banking law and the preparation of a variety of banking instruments; preparation of joint venture agreements between developers; en-bloc collective sales; advising clients on REITs; acting for housing and commercial developers; advising corporate clients; and leasing of residential and commercial buildings.

She has a sharp and critical mind. This gives her an edge as her work straddles different branches of the law – particularly property law, banking and corporate law. She has created a niche for herself in this area of practice. She also keeps up with the latest developments in the law and practice.

Huang Lui is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin which places her as a great advantage in dealing with Chinese-speaking clients. Outside of legal practice, Huang Lui is an accomplished musician, playing the piano and the Chinese fiddle, the erhu. From time to time, she has performed with members of the Singapore Erhu Society.
