Experience, Specialisation and Highlights

Lyssetta was called to the Singapore bar in 2016.

Her practice covers commercial litigation and arbitration, specifically in the areas of international trade, commodities and shipping. 

She has acted for both banks and commodity companies, and advises regularly on disputes arising out of physical commodities contracts, involving issues relating to letters of credit, title and security, and shipping law. 

She has experience in both the enforcement and setting aside of arbitration awards in the Singapore courts. 

In addition, she has experience in insolvency matters, and has experience acting for both creditors and debtors.  

In her practice, she has:

  • Acted for a multinational bank who was a major creditor in the Hin Leong and Ocean Tankers insolvency facing a total exposure of over USD 110m.
  • Acted for an international commodities company in enforcing a USD 2m guarantee and indemnity against a Singaporean debtor and succeeded in obtaining summary judgment against the debtor.
  • Successfully argued a specific discovery application in the High Court of Singapore in a freight forwarding dispute involving issues relating to shipping logistics, conversion and liens.
